Tracking
Tracking points a floating arrow at a chosen creature or player and keeps updating it as the target moves. On this UOR-era shard it is notably strong against people: player targets can always be tracked — hiding and stealth do not protect them.
How It Works
Use the skill (10-second reuse delay) and pick a category: Animals, Monsters, Human NPCs or Players. A quick skill check decides whether you "see evidence" at all — it is easy (difficulty around 21) so even novice trackers usually pass. You are then shown up to the 12 closest matching targets; pick one to get the tracking arrow.
- Search range:
10 + (Tracking / 10)tiles — 20 tiles at GM. - Arrow range: the arrow keeps working out to twice the search range before you lose the trail.
- Hidden players do appear in the list — combined with the arrow this makes Tracking the hard counter to Hiding and Stealth, without needing Detect Hidden.
Skill Cap and Training
Tracking caps at 100.0 — it is deliberately not available on skill scrolls, so 120 Tracking does not exist.
Training is passive and painless: every successful track rolls a gain, so stand anywhere with animals or townsfolk around and track something every 10 seconds. Gains run smoothly from 0 to 100 this way.
