Pet Stabling
Animal trainers (stable masters) keep your pets safe while you are away. Stabled pets are removed from the world, cannot be attacked or lost, and their loyalty is frozen — then reset to Wonderfully Happy when you claim them. You will find animal trainers at the stables in towns.
Stabling a Pet
- Say "stable" near an animal trainer (or use the context menu on the trainer).
- Target the pet you want to stable.
- Pay 30 gold — taken from your backpack first, then your bank.
The trainer's talk of weekly fees is just flavor: the 30 gold is a one-time fee per stabling. There are no recurring charges, and pets stay stabled indefinitely — they are never released or deleted for being stabled too long, even if you don't log in for months.
Requirements
- The pet must be alive, under your control, and not summoned.
- The pet must not be in combat (no enemy within 12 tiles).
- Pack animals (and pets with the Mule ability) must have an empty backpack.
- You must have a free stable slot.
Claiming Pets
- Say "claim" to reclaim all pets that fit within your free follower slots.
- Say "claim [petname]" to claim one specific pet.
- Say "claim list" or use the trainer's context menu to open the stabled pets list, where you can claim pets individually, inspect their level and abilities, or dismiss ones you no longer want (dismissing permanently deletes the pet — it asks for confirmation).
You must be within 14 tiles of the trainer. Claiming is limited by your follower slots (max 5), not your stable slots — with many stabled pets you simply claim them in batches. Claimed pets come back at full loyalty.
Stable Slots
How many pets you can stable depends on Animal Taming + Animal Lore + Veterinary.
Base slots (combined skill total)
| Combined skills | Base slots |
|---|---|
| Less than 160 | 2 |
| 160 – 199 | 3 |
| 200 – 239 | 4 |
| 240+ | 5 |
Bonus slots (individual skills at 100+)
Each of the three skills at 100 or higher grants extra slots: +1 per 10 points above 90.
| Skill value | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 100 | +1 |
| 110 | +2 |
| 120 | +3 |
Examples
| Taming | Lore | Vet | Base | Bonuses | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 50 | 50 | 2 | — | 2 |
| 80 | 80 | 80 | 5 | — | 5 |
| 100 | 100 | 100 | 5 | +1 +1 +1 | 8 |
| 120 | 100 | 80 | 5 | +3 +1 | 9 |
| 120 | 120 | 120 | 5 | +3 +3 +3 | 14 |
If your skills drop later
The system is forgiving. If you lose skill points after stabling (skill swaps, decay), pets already stabled stay stabled and can always be claimed. You just can't stable new pets until you are back under your new maximum.
House Stable Module
Owners of larger houses can rent a stable module — a personal animal trainer at your house:
- +10 stable slots per module.
- 35,000 gold per week, withdrawn automatically from the house owner's bank.
- If the bank can't cover the rent, the trainer packs up and leaves (your pets remain safe; you keep the slots' contents but can't use the extra capacity until you rent again).
- The bonus is account-wide: every house on your account with a stable module adds its own +10.
- Available on the five largest houses — Noble Residence, Grand Log Cabin, Stone Domicile, Warlord Fort and Ducal Sentry. The Warlord Fort gets its own orcish beast master.
- The trainer only does business while you are inside the house.
