Weapon Damage Simulator

Weapon damage on UO Sagas is a dice roll, not a flat number, so two weapons with the same average can feel very different — one steady, one swingy. This tool rolls 1,000 swings with the same formula the server uses and shows you the resulting spread.

Set your weapon and skills, and read off the minimum, average, maximum, swings per minute and damage per minute. For what the numbers mean, see Weapons.

Damage modifier from these settings: ×1.80
Tactics (skill−50)×0.6% · Strength ×0.1% · Anatomy ×0.2% (+10% at GM) · secondary skill ×0.2% PvM / ×0.1% PvP · exceptional quality +10%.

Reading the result

  • Min / Max are the true floor and ceiling of the dice, not the extremes the 1,000 rolls happened to produce — a weapon with a wide gap is streaky.
  • DPM (damage per minute) is the number to compare weapons by. Weapon speeds were tuned so one-handers land near 555 DPM and two-handers near 600, with the two-hander paying for its extra output by occupying the shield hand.
  • Secondary skill only appears for weapons that have one — axes use Lumberjacking, for example. It is worth twice as much in PvM as in PvP.
  • Switching to PvP applies the 0.70 damage scalar and halves the magic level, so the same weapon reads much lower there. See PvP Overview.

Caveats

The simulator models the swing damage roll and nothing else. It does not include your target's armor, hit chance, Skill Mastery perks and procs (PvM only), poison, or special blows. Treat it as a weapon-versus-weapon comparison, not a prediction of a fight.
