Boating
Boats let you travel the seas of Eren — reach deep-water fishing spots, recover MIB/SOS treasure, and explore islands that cannot be reached any other way.
Obtaining a Boat
Boat deeds are sold by Shipwright NPCs in the coastal towns (Coldstone, Moonvale, Volaria and others).
| Boat | Price |
|---|---|
| Small Ship | 20,354 gp |
| Small Dragon Ship | 20,354 gp |
| Medium Ship | 23,104 gp |
| Medium Dragon Ship | 23,104 gp |
| Large Ship | 25,854 gp |
| Large Dragon Ship | 25,854 gp |
The deed, the boat and its key are all unblessed. When you place the boat on water, a small gold key named "A Ship Key" appears in your backpack — guard it well.
Launching, Boarding and Picking Up
Launching
- Find a dock or shoreline with enough open water.
- Double-click the boat deed in your backpack.
- Target the water to place your boat.
- Step onto the boat's plank to board.
- Once aboard, pilot the boat with the speech commands below.
Picking Up Your Boat
- Pilot your boat to a coastline or dock.
- Say "Lower Anchor".
- Double-click the plank and exit your boat.
- Once on land, double-click the Tiller Man at the rear of the boat and follow the prompt to re-deed it.
Plank Use
- To lower the plank, double-click the side of the boat (usually the middle towards the back).
- Once lowered, double-click the plank to teleport onto the boat.
- If the side says "Locked", double-click the Ship Key in your backpack and target the side of the boat to unlock it.
- To exit, walk onto the plank — you will be teleported to land whether or not the plank touches shore. You cannot exit while running.
Boating Commands
Say these near the Tiller Man to maneuver:
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
| Raise Anchor | Required before the boat can move |
| Lower Anchor | Required before you can pick the boat up |
| Forward / Forward One | Sail forward (One = a single tile) |
| Back / Back One | Reverse (One = a single tile) |
| Left / Right | Sail sideways |
| Forward Left / Forward Right | Sail diagonally forward ("One" variants move a single tile) |
| Back Left / Back Right | Reverse diagonally ("One" variants move a single tile) |
| Turn Left / Turn Right | Rotate the boat |
| Turn Around | Rotate 180 degrees |
| Stop | Stop the boat |
Naming Your Boat
Double-click the Tiller Man while aboard. He asks "What dost thou wish to name thy ship?" — then simply type the name of your choosing.
Boat Security
At sea, other players can attack you. If your plank is unlocked they can board your boat and access its hold. To take full control of the boat they need to claim your Ship Key — the same applies if you leave your boat unattended. Keep the key safe and the planks locked.
Boat Decay
A boat left in the water decays like a house. It fully decays after about 9 days without use — using the boat refreshes the timer. When the timer runs out, the boat falls "in danger of collapsing" and you lose it along with everything in its hold. Pick your boat up as a deed when you are done sailing.
