Inscription Mastery
The scroll-caster's mastery: it turns casting from scrolls into a real build rather than a fallback, and unlocks two enhanced defensive spells. See Skill Masteries for the system itself.
| Requires | Inscription at 90.0 |
| Taught by | Scribe — 10,000 gold |
| Ultimate | Arcane Overload |
Perks
| Perk | Effect per level | At level 8 |
|---|---|---|
| Scroll Amplification | +10% damage and +10% healing when casting from a scroll | +80% both |
| Parchment Preservation | 6% chance not to consume the scroll | 48% chance |
| Scribe's Fortitude (template) | +6 magic resist circles, +20 reactive armor reduction | +48 circles, +160 reduction |
Parchment Preservation at level 8 means roughly every second scroll is free, which is what makes a scroll-based build affordable to run.
Scribe's Fortitude also grants a 20% chance to reflect spells above 15 circles of resistance, and unlocks the two Greater spells below.
Mastery spells
With Scribe's Fortitude unlocked, double-clicking a regular Reactive Armor or Magic Reflection scroll casts the greater version instead:
| Spell | Circle | Reagents |
|---|---|---|
| Greater Reactive Armor | 1st | Garlic, Spider's Silk, Sulfurous Ash |
| Greater Magic Reflection | 5th | Garlic, Mandrake Root, Spider's Silk |
They cannot be scribed or learned directly. The upgrade happens at cast time only — the scroll itself stays an ordinary scroll, so stacks remain tradeable and mergeable, and nothing is lost if the cast is disturbed.
Ultimate — Arcane Overload
Fires on magic damage at 1% per proc level (8% at level 8). Deals triple spell damage when casting from a scroll. Also fully heals you.
