Animal Lore Mastery
The tamer's mastery: every perk buffs your pet rather than you. See Skill Masteries for the system itself.
| Requires | Animal Lore at 90.0 |
| Taught by | Animal Trainer — 10,000 gold |
| Ultimate | Call For Blood |
Perks
| Perk | Effect per level | At level 8 |
|---|---|---|
| Dominion | +3% pet damage, plus a small flat bonus | +24% damage |
| Master's Reins | +2% pet controllability | +16% |
| Expert Trainer (template) | +2.5% pet XP | +20% XP |
All three perks require your pet to be within 16 tiles. Send it far ahead and it fights without any of them — this mastery rewards staying close.
Expert Trainer compounds with time rather than with a single fight: 20% faster pet levelling across a character's life is a large amount of saved effort.
Ultimate — Call For Blood
Fires when your pet deals damage at 1% per proc level (8% at level 8). Triggers your pet's own ultimate ability — what actually happens depends on the creature. Also fully heals you.
This is the only ultimate whose trigger and effect both belong to the pet rather than to you, and that cuts both ways: the pet has to have an ultimate ability, and it has to actually go off. Fighting with a pet that has none, the proc never rolls, so there is no heal and nothing on screen. Check your pet's abilities on Beast Mastery before building around this. It also needs your own Animal Lore to still be at 90 or above.
