Camping
Camping does exactly one thing, but it does it as advertised: it lets you log out safely anywhere in the wilderness instead of waiting out the normal logout timer. That's the whole skill — useful for explorers, skippable for everyone else.
How It Works
- Buy kindling (provisioners sell it) and a bedroll.
- Double-click the kindling. A Camping skill check decides whether the fire lights; on a failure you just try again (the kindling is only consumed on success).
- Stay within 7 tiles of the burning campfire. After about 30 seconds you get the message "The camp is now secure."
- Unroll and double-click your bedroll: a window offers to log you out — confirm and you are disconnected instantly and safely.
Notes:
- Campfires burn for about 1½ minutes before going out, so don't dawdle once the camp is secure.
- Campfires cannot be lit inside dungeons — no safe logout down there.
- The campfire itself is just a light source; it does not heal, cook or protect you.
Skill Cap and Training
Camping caps at 100.0 (no skill scroll). It trains by lighting fires — buy a stack of kindling and burn through it. In practice even a low skill is fine: a failed attempt costs nothing, and once the fire is lit the secure-camp part never fails. There is little reason to GM this skill.
