Anatomy

Anatomy is the study of bodies — and one of the best-value skills in the game. It quietly adds damage to every weapon hit, powers bandage healing, is half of the famous "wrestling mage" defense, and gates every special combat move in PvP. Warriors, healers and mages all want it.

What the skill does

Bonus damage

Every point of Anatomy adds +0.2% weapon damage — +20% at 100 — plus an extra +10% once you reach Grandmaster, for +30% total at GM. It stacks with Tactics and Strength; the full damage calculation is on the Weapons page.

Stronger bandage healing

Anatomy is the partner skill of Healing when applying bandages:

  • The amount healed scales with Anatomy ÷ 5 on both the minimum and maximum roll — at 100/100 Healing and Anatomy a bandage heals roughly 43–80 hit points.
  • Curing poison with bandages requires Healing and Anatomy at 60+.
  • Resurrecting players with bandages requires Healing and Anatomy at 80+.

Gate for special combat moves

Anatomy unlocks the PvP special moves:

Move Anatomy needed Other requirements
Concussion blow (Swordsmanship) 80 Dex 75, two-handed axe/polearm
Crushing blow (Mace Fighting) 80 Dex 75, two-handed mace
Paralyzing blow (Fencing) 80 Dex 75, two-handed spear
Stun punch (Wrestling) 80 Wrestling 80, free hands

For the weapon blows, the trigger chance itself scales with Anatomy — about 15% per hit at 100. Without 80 Anatomy (and 75 Dexterity), no special blows for you.

Mage defense

For unarmed characters the game uses (Anatomy + Evaluating Intelligence + 20) ÷ 2 as a substitute defensive Wrestling value if it beats the real skill — the backbone of every "wrestling-free" mage template.

Examining targets

Using the skill directly lets you examine a creature or player from up to 8 tiles: it reports their strength and dexterity in words, and from 65.0 skill also their stamina ("endurance") percentage. The estimate sharpens as your skill rises. Handy for sizing up a tamable or an arena opponent, but nobody trains the skill this way.

Skill cap

Anatomy caps at 100.0 — there are no Skill Scrolls for it.

Training 0 → 100

Anatomy gains passively on every weapon blow you land and on every bandage you apply — no dedicated training needed:

  1. Buy the first ~30 points from an NPC healer.
  2. Fight and heal as normal; Anatomy rises alongside your weapon skill and Healing. Bandaging yourself after fights trains Healing and Anatomy in one go.
  3. Region modifiers apply as usual — dungeons +20%, Adena doubled up to 70.0 — see Skills Overview.

  • Tactics — the other passive damage skill
